Challenge

Hello ladies (and gentlemen??)! Nicole here with a challenge for you.
I know that sometimes we come to a bump in the road when scrapping....same stuff...same ideas...no interest. So, I've come up with something that I hope will get those scrappy taste buds salivating again. I want to see a monochromatic LO....same color in different variations. On this LO, I want to see a technique or product you don't normally use. It doesn't have to be store bought. It can be something you have layin around the house. ( I used a blue latex balloon to cover a button, burnt the edges of my paper, and used a cupcake paper.) If you can, use a black and white photo. And...lol...try to follow the basic LO of my page.
I would really like to see a lot of people participate in this challenge. Let's see how creative you can be!!You can post a link to your creation, and all of them will be uploaded to the blog for everyone to see! Since it's a holiday time for most, why don't we have them finished and uploaded by Jan. 1st!! So, Ready, Set, Create!!

Thanks,Nicole
OK have fun everyone Thanks
Robyn

OOPS I forgot when your LO is done e-mail it to me at blog@thepapercrate.ca for posting on the BLOG, but don't forget to post it in the gallery too!

Without further adieu....

I am finally back to share the results of the Page Maps sketch that I posted. I apologize for the delay but between a houseguest and getting sick, it was a bad week last week for getting anything done!

I hope everyone enjoyed this sketch as much as I did.

My take on the sketch - using Noteworthy by Making Memories

Nicole - I love the hand cut paper (I think?) and the buttons on the ribbon.

Alison - What a great monochromatic layout and a beautiful memory to document.

I promise we will get things rolling more regularly around here, so stayed tuned. I will post another sketch this week and see what else Robyn has in store for us.

Sketch Inspiration

Do you have a scrapbooking product that you buy over and over because you like the look of it, but just never quite know what to do with it? For me it is the different shaped paper - circles, scallops etc. I must have half a dozen sheets in my collection and love the way it looks but I always have such a hard time figuring out what to do with it. After a trip to Page Maps today, I am now inspired to dig into that box and dig out on of those sheets. I found this great sketch and will post my version on Saturday.

If anyone is willing to play along with me, post a link to your layout in the comments box before noon on Saturday and I will post yours on the blog too. And keep watching the blog for more fun stuff coming!

Sneak Peak

So here it is a sneak peak of the next kit!

No we do not get the cutie pie, but the paper is a little tease!

Sarah will be posting later with a sketch, for you to have some fun with.

And I will announce our first Guest Designer later this week!

Have a great day and thanks for checking in

Let's Get Things Started....

Hi everyone, this is Sarah (aka tsmack) here.  Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, especially now that I live in Saskatchewan.  I love everything about fall.  The changing leaves, warm days and cool nights, pumpkins, scarecrows, Thanksgiving, Halloween.  And being in Saskatchewan, this time of year there are no bugs!  So to start us off, I will share a few of my favorite fall layouts and offer a challenge for you to share your favorite layout with a fall theme. Post your layout to in the Papercrate Gallery under Monthly Challenge and at the end of the week, I will take the fall layouts and post them to the blog.

For the rest of this month, keep checking back for fall themed challenges, inspiration, ideas, info on what's coming soon in the store and maybe even a prize or two!

And on a non-scrapbook related note (hope this is ok Robyn!), just had to share this for all you west-coasters enjoying the rain. I took this out of my kitchen window at about 3pm this afternoon.  Winter is officially showing it's face in Saskatchewan!
